Success begin defence of St James U13 football

MONTEGO BAY, St James — John Rollins Success Primary will begin the defence of their St James Football Association/VMBS Under-13 title today, when they take on former champions Barracks Road in the opening game at the UDC field set to start at 11:30 am after the opening ceremony.
Thirty-one schools will take part in the 28th staging of the competition that is set to run through June 15, when the final will be played.
The teams have been placed in six groups for the first round, with the top two advancing to the quarter-finals.
Milton Griffiths, a former national player who also played for Cornwall College and Violet Kickers, will be the guest speaker at the opening ceremony.
John Rollins Success will lead Zone A, which will also see Chetwood Primary, Vaughnsfield Primary, Barracks Road Primary, Barrett Town All Age and Green Pond Primary.
Corinaldi Avenue Primary, last year’s beaten finalists, are in Zone B where they will face Bogue All Age, Cambridge Primary, Lethe All Age and Flankers Primary.
Zone C has Granville All Age, Glendevon Primary, Salt Spring All Age, Irwin Primary and Somerton All Age.
